MindGrind is developed for academic research to study human cognition and performance. Please note that gameplay performance data is collected during sessions solely for research analysis. MindGrind is a fast-paced cognitive strategy game set inside a mysterious simulation designed to test human cognition. To beat the game, you must adapt to two distinct styles of gameplay: navigating tactical top-down levels and going through high-pressure, purely UI-based minigames. Every level introduces severe time pressure and complex mechanics engineered to isolate and evaluate your core mental faculties.

The Gameplay Structure

1. Core Levels (Top-Down Exploration)

Control your character through a simulation environment where progression is blocked by secure gates. To unlock them, you must manage environmental layout traps, physical hazards, and active multi-tasking under a strict timeframe.

2. Brain Trials (UI-Based Mini-Games)

Triggering a gate takes you to a clean, distraction-free interface built for rapid-fire cognitive tests:

• Attention: High-pressure tasks requiring focused visual tracking and the ability to selectively target or ignore specific elements.
• Reflex: Split-second reaction tests requiring immediate clicks, rapid responses, or active restraint under time constraints.
• Memory: Short-term retention challenges involving sequence replication, pattern tracking, and word reconstruction.
• Perception: Rapid visual and audio recognition tasks, covering layout identification and audio note matching.
• Reasoning: Logical problem-solving scenarios, real-time puzzles, and analytical evaluation of changing criteria.
• Learning: Adaptive challenges requiring real-time rule deciphering, vocabulary utilization, and mathematical knowledge.
